CAMFEST SHOWCASE IS HERE AGAIN!!!

Christs-mas will come early for the winners of a gospel talent show coming up in Dublin's Ballyfermot Civic Centre this November. The search is on once again for talented young people (and the young at heart), from all over Ireland and beyond.
CAMfest Showcase is the latest singing exhibition and talent show organised by Christian Artists Network, (CAM Network), a non-profit Ireland based organisation. On Saturday 29th November, the group will be offering cash prizes to winners of the talent show in Ireland, and giving out Gospel Artists Awards. Auditions for the talent show will take place on 8th November at the Ballyfermot Civic Centre, Dublin.

The event was created in 2007 as a Christian response to social challenges, and targets young people of all nationalities in all communities. Televised on Sky TV networks, the event generated great euphoria amongst artists watching in different countries who rated it as an evening of excellent family fun. "We expect to reach more people this year, and to put bigger smiles on more faces", said Bunmi Salako who is the 2008 International CAMfest Administrator. "The Network will build confidence in young people, and mentor them all the way to the international stage". "The Gospel Artists Awards is a unique aspect in Ireland", says Ciaran Smith, an Adviser to the project. "Through CAM Network, Gospel Artists can now receive recognition for thier services, outreach efforts, and wonderful performances". For years, several people offer their services voluntarily within gospel circles, most affecting young people positively. From October 2008 these experienced gospel artists and musicians are being nominated for awards. "We recognise that Gospel Music is big business" says Ciaran, "and we want the young people everywhere to step into successful careers as reputable industry-standard voices". "We are asking people to nominate their best gospel artists for awards, and for talented people to present themselves for audition. You never know, you might win" says Ciaran. We also invite everyone to come out and watch the show, "bring your kids".

Launched in Ireland in November 2007, the 1st CAMfest Artists Recognition Awards were presented to nominated gospel artists for contributions to youth empowerment within communities all over Ireland. The evening featured various performances from young people aged 11 to 40+. The CAMfest Showcase, also a feature of the evening, is the search for talented upcoming gospel artists. Young people from across Ireland were invited for auditions for the showcase, and a number of acts were selected to progress to the next stage. On the night, a South African, a Nigerian, and an Irish national were selected by a panel of judges as the most outstanding. The 2007 CAMfest Artists Awards and Talent Showcase attracted people of all ages. The CAMfest Showcase will also take place in the UK on 15th November with Auditions on 1st November. Businesses and individuals wishing to sponsor these events can contact either Yetty, Ciaran, or Bunmi
